Structure of HTML

HTML describes the structure of document, not the layout. Most documents contain at least:

• Headings
• Paragraphs
• Text

And many also contain:

• Lists
• Quotations
• Images

Electronic documents also contain a header which contains information used for the communication between the client and the server.
